Vehicle
Since our budget is targeting a class B
We enjoy the back country as opposed to campgrounds and RV parks. So a proper 4x4 with a low range transfer case is a necessity,
A Mercedes Benz Sprinter is the obvious choice but after they discontinued the 4x4 option that was a big strike against it. Also when you look at service center locations they are very sparse in the west and Rockies areas, another strike. There may be a 4x4 setup coming out for the Sprinter but there is still the service center issue.
The other option is the Ford Transit. Quigley started offering 4x4 upgrades for the late models. Ford service centers are everywhere and the cost of service is much less. We are planning on around 300K miles in the 10 years and may have to replace the transmission but with the savings on service we still be ahead of the game.
from Quigley [https://quigley4x4.com](https://quigley.com){.uri} is the ticket. The long wheelbase and rear over hang will be some what limiting but we have lots of back roads experience in our 4x4 Tacoma so we'll manage.
