#### Notes

Below here are just a random collection of notes and represent my thoughts and ramblings and any information should be vetted by yourself. This information will be updated as the design process moves along.

Front seat with swivels Lagun(s) table for front seats

Dual recliners for when the weather doesn't let us be outside. Lagun table(s) or other lift up type table for the recliners.

Pull down screen with projector for viewing while in recliners or bed.

Use 8020 series 15 light smooth for cabinet frames

Might not want black because it might rub off over time.

Need safe storage for high value electronics.

Need Mirror

Nets/shelf on cab ceiling - good place for coats

Sound deadening fully covering the rear wheel wells.

Ceiling printed fabric over coroplast

Use ramboard for making templates. Use multiple pieces taped together

Swivel seat might be too high

Raised seating area?

Determine window height and set bed minimum height to good for looking out of windows.

Set height of sub floor under seating to be has high as comfortable with bed at max

Under this sub floor all the plumbing and electrical boxes can be put or maybe a flat water tank.

Make sure cabinets are well attached

always think about repair. Go easy on glue. Screws are good

To attach cabinets to floor, glue plate to Coosa subfloor with stud or rivnut

USB cord storage in bed area.

Floor

1-1/2" to 2" XPS

1/2"? XPS filler strips - no? so floor has better circulation

Channels routed for heating pipes - Aluminum or copper heat spreaders

1/2” Coosa board for floor - maybe 1/4"?

Tongue and groove or biscuits for joining flooring sheets - or half lap and glue

Paint Coosa board - especially under cabinets if floor does not extend under there.

One piece vinyl or maybe some kind of paint on flooring

Don't glue flooring down until cabinets are complete.

Under Structure

Painted 1/2” Coosa board for floor and wall stringers (run horizontal)

Use Fiberglass or other non-heat conductive plastic to attach brackets to van metal.

Bondo Glass putty to fix Coosa holes and edges.

Walls

1/2" doubled up? for spars. Place where cabinets can bolt to using t-nuts.

Might put one spar down then wall and add second spar where cabinets attach.

This spar would be removable so addition t-nuts can be added after the fact.

Use rivnuts to connect spars to wall braces

Use t-nuts to attach cabinets

Need to work out the thermal break on the spars

Use +2" inches of batting insulation

Not sure what facing to use.

About the glue — resist the temptation to use 3M-90 or other spray can-based adhesives.  In the long term, such products will not withstand the temperature variations in an automobile.  If the glue does not hold, you’ll be re-buying all the material and having to tear your van apart to fix it.  The Dap Weldwood is what professional

automotive upholsterers use.  When we made a mistake and tried to separate the glued upholstery from the panel, the Dap adhesive actually ripped the wood fibers out.  It’s strong stuff!

When prepping for this project, we read in several places that 3M-90 spray adhesive would fail across temperature differences over the years. Because of this, we worked to find folks who did use 3M-90, and none of them reported failures back even years layer. Between that, and the recommendation of where we got our upholstery supplies, we >decided to send it and use 3M-90.

Magnets to attach ceiling and walls???

Check the weight of ceder for the ceiling and walls

Front curtain- rail goes from front cab midpoint around to the b piller then half way straight across towards the other b pillar. This allows curtain to be pulled across in front of the chairs or straight across for maximum insulation. A curtain system split in half allow easy peaking through the middle.
