Welcome to our 4x4 Van Living website. My wife and I are retiring at some point and want to live a full time off grid nomadic lifestyle. To accomplish this we are buying a new Ford Transit cargo van and building it out for long term living. We had originally planned having Quigley upgrade it to 4x4 but their release is delayed for who knows how long so we went with the AWD option from Ford. While not as capable as proper 4x4 it will allow us to get into the backcountry. The van is on order and will be ready for pickup in Dallas mid March 2026.

This website is where I'm keeping design and build notes as well as links to items of interest. It's kind of a working blog/diary so it will be VERY ROUGH at times. As the design process solidifies so will the pages of this website. I'm not in this for money so I won't be reserving any secrets or use affiliate links. This is my way to give back the community that is making this possible.
